Are you the kind of career nanny who thrives in the organized chaos of a busy family?
You know that a successful afternoon isn’t about rushing from one activity to the next. It’s about creating calm in the middle of the movement. School pickup, gymnastics, theater, homework, snacks, laundry, backpacks, tomorrow’s uniforms… somehow it all gets done because you’re two steps ahead.
If you’re looking for a long-term home where you’ll be trusted as an extension of the parents, valued for your experience, and given the opportunity to truly become part of a family’s everyday life, we’d love to introduce you to this wonderful Scottsdale family.
The Nanny Joynt is partnering with a warm, active family in North Scottsdale who is searching for an experienced Career Nanny & Household Manager to become an integral part of their team. With two working parents, four active children, and busy schedules that are constantly evolving, they are looking for someone who brings organization, consistency, and calm to their home.
This role is ideal for a seasoned nanny who enjoys balancing meaningful childcare with household management and takes pride in keeping a busy family’s day running seamlessly.
About the Family
This is an active, welcoming family that genuinely enjoys spending time together. Their home is busy in all the best ways, filled with school projects, sports schedules, dance bags, neighborhood friends, family dinners, and plenty of laughter. While every day brings something different, their goal is simple: they want someone who brings consistency, warmth, and calm to the rhythm of family life.
They’ve had wonderful long-term relationships with previous nannies and are excited to welcome someone who hopes to become a trusted part of their family for years to come.
Children
Each child brings their own personality and interests, making every day a little different.
- Almost 12-year-old son entering middle school: Kind, social, and independent, he enjoys sports, theater, and spending time with friends.
- 10-year-old daughter: A dedicated competitive gymnast who is hardworking, driven, and thrives with consistency.
- 7-year-old daughter: Creative, energetic, and expressive, she loves theater, dance, and performing.
- 6-year-old son entering kindergarten: Curious and imaginative, he enjoys building, creating, and exploring new ideas.
The children are bright, kind, active, and fun to be around. They respond well to caregivers who build genuine relationships while providing consistency, encouragement, and clear expectations.
Parents
Both parents work. One parent’s schedule includes frequent weekly travel that often isn’t confirmed until the weekend before, while the other works a hybrid schedule that is gradually shifting toward more time in the office.
A grandparent lives just a few doors away and is actively involved, making this a true team environment. The parents are communicative, flexible, and genuinely want the person who joins their family to feel valued and supported.
Pets
The family has three friendly dogs, including an Australian Shepherd and a Golden Retriever puppy. While a dog walker assists with exercise, the nanny should be comfortable around large dogs and help with basic daily pet care such as letting the dogs outside, ensuring they come back in, feeding them as needed, and keeping an eye on the puppy when it’s out.

What You’ll Be Doing
Child Care
- Provide warm, engaging after-school care for four school-age children, creating an environment where they feel supported, respected, and encouraged to thrive.
- Safely transport the children to and from school, gymnastics, dance, theater, sports, and other activities using the family vehicle.
- Manage the family’s afternoon schedule by coordinating school pickups, activity logistics, and transitions, ensuring everyone arrives where they need to be safely and on time.
- Support the children’s daily routines by preparing healthy snacks, assisting with homework, monitoring assignments, encouraging independence, and helping them stay organized for upcoming activities and school responsibilities.
Household Support
While the children are in school, you’ll help ensure the household stays organized, prepared, and running smoothly. Weekly house cleaners handle the deep cleaning, allowing you to focus on the day-to-day systems that help a busy family function well.
- Children’s and family laundry, kitchen resets, and maintaining organized common areas
- Preparing simple family dinners 4 nights per week, meal prep, and helping ensure dinner is started before the parents return home
- Grocery shopping, household errands, inventory management, and restocking household essentials
- Organizing children’s bedrooms, closets, toys, seasonal clothing, and household spaces
- Preparing backpacks, lunches, school supplies, and activity items while helping manage the family’s daily logistics
- Coordinating occasional deliveries, service appointments, returns, and other household logistics as needed
- Assisting with seasonal projects, birthday preparations, teacher gifts, holiday organization, and other family logistics throughout the year
- Taking ownership of the day-to-day household flow by anticipating needs, completing projects, and proactively keeping the home running smoothly
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who naturally takes ownership.
You’re the person who notices backpacks need restocking before anyone asks. You remember tomorrow is spirit day. You know teacher gifts need to go out next week. You recognize that gymnastics starts earlier this week and quietly adjust the afternoon plan before anyone feels rushed. Rather than waiting for instructions, you naturally look around, prioritize what needs attention, and take ownership of keeping the household running smoothly.
You aren’t waiting to be managed—you genuinely enjoy making life easier for busy parents.
Our ideal candidate is:
- A safe, reliable driver with a clean driving record (non-negotiable)
- Warm, engaging, and able to build genuine relationships with school-age children
- Patient, kind, and calm under pressure while maintaining firm, consistent boundaries
- Highly organized and confident managing multiple schedules, activities, and priorities at once
- Flexible and adaptable when plans change, often with short notice
- A strong communicator who naturally keeps parents informed
- Comfortable around multiple dogs, including an energetic puppy
- Naturally proactive and takes pride in maintaining an organized, well-run household
- A mature, career-minded nanny or household manager looking for a long-term position with one family
Why You’ll Love This Position
- Long-term opportunity with a family committed to finding the right person
- Parents who value communication, trust your expertise, and genuinely view their nanny as part of the team
- A family that has enjoyed wonderful long-term relationships with previous nannies and is excited to welcome the next person into that role
- Guaranteed hours with a reliable weekday schedule
- Weekly house cleaners, a dog walker, and a nearby grandparent provide additional household support
- The opportunity to build meaningful relationships with four fun, active children while playing an essential role in helping the entire family thrive
