Family Summary:

Are you a flexible and engaging individual who enjoys working with older children? We are seeking a dynamic and nurturing nanny to join this dedicated and kind family! Their oldest son is 16 years old and is pretty independent and will need minimal care from their new nanny. Their daughter is almost 13 and she loves singing, drama, and creating fun crafts. Their youngest son is 11 years old and enjoys sports and playing games. The children will need to be driven to and from activities as needed. Their new nanny should be confident and a strong role model.  As their nanny, you will play a crucial role in providing after-school care and creating a fun and stimulating environment for their children. If you are passionate about working with older children and are looking for a fulfilling opportunity to make a positive impact in a family’s life, we would love to hear from you!

This position is offering $28-$30 per hour depending on your experience level. They offer guaranteed hours, paid holidays, paid time off, and paid vacation.

Schedule: 20 hours guaranteed each week – Family cannot offer more hours

  • Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM 
  • Opportunity for additional hours during summer

Responsibilities:

  • Pick up the children from school and ensure they arrive safely home
  • Provide healthy snacks and downtime for the children to unwind after school
  • Assist with homework assignments and provide academic support as needed
  • Engage the children in age-appropriate activities, including crafts, games, sports, and outdoor play
  • Foster individual interests and hobbies by finding ways to engage each child independently
  • Be a strong communicator, maintaining open and clear communication with both the children and parents
  • Uphold traditional family values and promote respect and good behavior among the children
  • Establish a positive and nurturing relationship with the children, acting as a trusted adult figure in the household
  • Maintain flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the family

Household-Related Tasks:

  • Cleaning up after self and children
  • Load/unload the dishwasher 
  • Taking out the trash/recycling as needed
  • Making sure all areas are organized/tidy as needed
  • Family meal preparation
  • Help with laundry as needed
  • Organizational tasks 
  • Running errands as needed
  • Cleaning up before leaving the house each day
  • The family does have a housekeeper for deep cleaning

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with older children
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage children in creative and educational activities
  • Flexibility to work with children of different ages and interests
  • Valid driver’s license, up-to-date auto insurance, and clean driving record
  • Comfortable with pet care responsibilities

Considerations:

  • This family does prefer their nanny to have an up-to-date Covid vaccine, however, this is not required. 
  • The family does have two small dogs in the house. Care for their dogs will include letting them in and out, and providing food and water if needed.
  • This family is seeking a 1-year commitment to start, however, they would love to have their new nanny very long term. 

This family is one with traditional values and upbringing. This means that their kids have been raised to be respectful and well-behaved, and yet also have a great time when they are having fun and being engaged. As parents, they do see their nanny as an extension of their family, and one where they can establish a two-way relationship where they can communicate and adjust as needed.
