The Nanny Joynt is partnering with a warm family in North Central Phoenix seeking their first professional nanny. They aren’t simply looking for someone to supervise their daughter while they’re at work. They’re looking for an experienced infant nanny who can confidently lead the day, nurture their daughter’s development, and bring calm, knowledgeable guidance through every stage of her first year.

As first-time parents, they are honest about wanting to learn from someone with more experience. They welcome thoughtful recommendations, value professional expertise, and are looking for a nanny who leads with confidence, warmth, and partnership.

About the Family

The Child

One sweet baby girl who will be four months old at the start of the position.

• Happy, easygoing, and incredibly content
• Warm with new caregivers and recently learned to self-settle for naps
• Follows wake windows rather than a strict clock schedule
• Combo-fed with breast milk and formula (including frozen breast milk)
• Beginning solids in the coming months, and her parents are looking for a nanny who can confidently guide them through this transition
• A very “spitty” baby who is being monitored by her pediatrician. She is gaining weight well, sleeping through the night, and is never uncomfortable, but her care includes patient bottle feeds, frequent burping, upright time after feeds, and keeping up with baby laundry.

The Parents

A warm, professional couple looking for a true partner.

• Both parents work outside the home Monday through Thursday
• One parent may occasionally work from home on Fridays
• First-time parents who genuinely value professional experience
• Looking for a nanny who confidently leads the day, offers thoughtful recommendations, and feels like a trusted extension of their family

Pets

One friendly four-year-old Goldendoodle named Cooper.

• Approximately 80 pounds with his own dog door
• Loves being wherever everyone else is and is wonderful with the baby
• Requires very little care beyond an occasional water bowl refill
• Stroller walks are welcome but never expected

Applicants should genuinely enjoy having a large, friendly dog around throughout the day.

Position Details

Schedule

Monday–Thursday:
8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Fridays:
Approximately two Fridays per month

Guaranteed Hours:
36 hours per week

Fridays are intentionally flexible. The family anticipates needing care approximately two Fridays per month. Some Fridays will be a full day, while others may be a half day. On the remaining Fridays, no care will be needed.

The family will provide at least two weeks’ notice whenever Friday care is needed, and in most cases will provide considerably more notice. They have been intentional about creating a schedule that respects their nanny’s personal time.

Travel & Overnights

None anticipated during the first year.

Compensation & Benefits

$28-$30 per hour DOE

Benefits include:

• 36 guaranteed hours each week
• W-2 employment
• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half over 40 hours
• Paid vacation
• Paid sick time
• Paid holidays
• Mileage reimbursement at the current IRS rate

Childcare Responsibilities

Childcare is the heart of this role.

There is no household manager component, no family laundry, and no expectation of general housekeeping. Your focus is helping one little girl thrive.

• Providing attentive, nurturing care for one infant
• Preparing bottles, including thawing frozen breast milk
• Supporting paced feeds, frequent burping, and extended upright time after bottles
• Observing feeding patterns and honestly communicating what seems helpful as the family continues working with their pediatrician
• Following wake windows and protecting established sleep routines
• Planning engaging, developmentally appropriate play that supports each new milestone
• Confidently guiding the transition into solids and helping parents navigate each new developmental stage
• Preparing simple meals once solids begin
• Taking neighborhood walks, library visits, baby classes, and other age-appropriate outings as she grows
• Driving your own vehicle using the family’s car seat
• Provide a thoughtful end-of-day recap covering feeds, naps, developmental moments, and the overall day
• Communicate promptly if anything falls outside the normal routine

Child-Related Household Support

A housekeeper cares for the home on weekends. All household responsibilities are child-related and always secondary to the baby.

Responsibilities include:

• Baby laundry washed, folded, and put away
• Washing and sanitizing bottles and pump parts
• Keeping the nursery and play spaces clean and organized
• Sanitizing toys
• Emptying the diaper pail
• Preparing baby meals once solids begin

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for a career nanny who genuinely loves the infant stage and enjoys partnering with first-time parents.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have 5+ years of professional nanny experience with exceptional references
• Bring extensive infant experience, including feeding, sleep, developmental milestones, and introducing solids
• Confidently lead the day while offering thoughtful guidance with warmth and professionalism
• Take initiative, communicate well, and thrive with autonomy rather than micromanagement
• Respect routines while anticipating what’s coming next developmentally
• Be comfortable with a large, friendly dog
• Be looking for a long-term position where they can become a trusted extension of the family
