Are you a warm, steady nanny who loves the infant stage and wants a role where your entire focus is the baby?

The Nanny Joynt is partnering with a lovely first-time family to find a full-time nanny for their sweet baby boy, born in March. They are thoughtful, communicative parents looking for someone who can confidently take the lead on his day while partnering closely with Mom and Dad.

This is a baby-focused nanny position with an exceptionally light household scope. No family laundry, errands, cooking, or household cleaning. Your day is his day!

About the Family

The Child

One happy, social baby boy born in March.

• Generally content and warms up nicely to new people, although he does best when a familiar face is nearby at first
• Rolling both directions and working hard on floor time, tummy time, and grasping
• Loves his activity mat, sensory toys, teethers, books, and being read and sung to
• Almost exclusively breastfed, with first solids just around the corner. His parents will prepare his food, so feeding support is light
• Contact naps are his current favorite, along with rocking and shushing. He does not take a pacifier
• Takes three to four naps a day in a nursery set up with a crib, glider, blackout curtains, and white noise
• No known allergies, reflux, or feeding concerns
• He has sensitive skin, so the family maintains a fragrance-free environment. Nanny will need to come to work without perfume or scented lotions, and fragrance-free laundry detergent is strongly preferred.

His parents would love a nanny’s help gently working toward crib naps.

The Parents

A kind, communicative couple who genuinely value the knowledge and experience a professional nanny can bring.

• Mom works fully remote from a home office right beside the nursery. She is typically on calls for about two hours each day and the rest of her day is more flexible but she remains focused on her work during nanny hours.
• Mom is breastfeeding and will step out to nurse when he is hungry. A quick text or knock is all it takes
• Mom may occasionally join during a natural break to read him a story or participate in an activity while respecting the nanny’s role and the baby’s established routine
• Dad works a hybrid schedule and is in the office Tuesdays and Wednesdays
• They are first-time parents who are genuinely open to guidance from someone with strong infant experience
• They value open, two-way communication and want a nanny who feels comfortable speaking up
• They want someone confident enough to own the day with their son while also working collaboratively with them and getting to know what works best for him as an individual.

Pets

The family has one golden retriever who will be kept separated from the baby during nanny hours. There are no pet responsibilities in this role.

Because golden hair travels, the family simply asks that the baby’s play areas stay tidy since just about everything he gets his hands on goes straight into his mouth!

A Note on Location

The family currently lives in North Tempe near ASU and is actively house hunting. They are considering North Phoenix, Chandler, and the Gilbert area, with hopes of moving by the end of the year. Nothing is under contract yet.

They want to be completely upfront about this during the search and welcome an open conversation about commute and location during the interview process.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
32 guaranteed hours per week

The family has some flexibility on the daily window if a candidate needs to shift the start or end time by approximately 30 minutes.

Occasional Friday hours may be available if the family needs additional coverage, always with advance notice and always optional.

Compensation & Benefits

$28 per hour

Childcare Responsibilities

This is a true baby-focused nanny position with the focus entirely on one infant. Responsibilities include:

• Providing loving, attentive, and fully engaged care throughout the day
• Bringing the baby to Mom for nursing sessions as he cues
• Maintaining healthy nap and sleep routines, including contact naps, and gently supporting the transition toward crib naps for the first nap of the day
• Planning engaging, developmentally appropriate activities including floor time, tummy time, sensory play, and supporting early milestones
• Talking, singing, reading, and narrating the world around him throughout the day
• Supporting solids as they are introduced. His parents prepare his food
• Tracking feeds, naps, and diapers in the Huckleberry app. The family can provide an iPad or the nanny may use her own phone
• Providing thoughtful daily communication with both parents
• The family has a no-screens rule for the baby.

A Note on Outings

This role will be in-home to start. As first-time parents, the family is not yet comfortable with their son leaving the house independently with the nanny, and they want to be transparent about that from the beginning.

They have also been very clear that they want to get there. As trust builds and their son grows, they anticipate gradually incorporating stroller walks, neighborhood outings, and age-appropriate activities into his days.

They understand that outings and autonomy are important parts of a long-term nanny role and are genuinely motivated to expand this as everyone becomes comfortable. The right nanny will be patient during that initial trust-building period and understand that this is something the family hopes to grow into together.

If outings become part of the role, the nanny would use their own vehicle. The family will provide the appropriate car seat and reimburse mileage at the IRS rate.

Child-Related Household Support

The parents handle their household responsibilities themselves, including all laundry. Nanny responsibilities are minimal and limited entirely to the baby:

• Washing bottles and pump parts and keeping them sanitized
• Keeping his nursery and play spaces tidy, putting toys away
• Light cleanup after feedings as solids are introduced

That is the full list. No family laundry, household cleaning, errands, cooking, or general household responsibilities.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have strong infant experience and at least three years of verifiable professional childcare experience
• Be exceptionally dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to make a genuine minimum one-year commitment
• Be warm, engaging, confident, and comfortable taking the lead on the baby’s day
• Read the baby’s individual cues and adjust rather than forcing a method that isn’t working for him
• Communicate openly and work well in partnership with involved, work-from-home parents
• Respect the family’s preferences while also feeling comfortable sharing their own infant knowledge, ideas, and experience
