The Nanny Joynt is thrilled to partner once again with a warm, professional returning family in Paradise Valley. Both parents are attorneys with demanding careers and are looking for a full-time nanny/family assistant who will care for their two gifted children with warmth and consistency while providing family-assistant support throughout the week.

They’re hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys children, communicates well, follows through on the plan the parents set, and wants to become a long-term part of the family. Someone who can move from household tasks to school pickup, homework, activities, and dinner prep with ease and takes pride in helping a busy family stay organized.

The Children

11-Year-Old Son

• Bright, gifted, with a wonderful sense of humor

7-Year-Old Daughter

• Bright, gifted, creative, independent, and wonderfully spunky
• In second grade
• Loves gymnastics, dance, arts and crafts, karaoke, and imaginative play

The Parents

Both parents have demanding professional careers and primarily work from home, each from their own private office. They occasionally travel for work.

They are warm, appreciative, highly communicative parents who provide clear information, direction, and household systems. They are looking for someone who can take that direction, follow through consistently, and independently execute their responsibilities.

Position Details

Schedule

• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• Monday-Thursday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Friday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

The remaining 3 guaranteed hours each week are flexible and will be scheduled in advance based on the family’s needs. The family is looking for someone who can offer occasional flexibility for later evenings when work or the children’s activities require additional coverage.

These hours will always be communicated well in advance, and the family is committed to creating a schedule that works well for both parties.

Travel & Overnights

• No regular travel required
• Rare overnight care only if both parents are away at the same time, anticipated just a few times per year
• Advance notice will always be provided and additional compensation will apply

Additional Hours

Optional weekend hours, such as an occasional Saturday evening, may be available for candidates interested in earning additional income but are never required.

• $28-$30/hour DOE
• W-2 Household Employee

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a full-time nanny/family assistant role that combines school-age childcare with family-assistant support. The children are always the priority, while the family-assistant responsibilities focus on helping busy working parents stay organized and keeping daily life running smoothly.

Childcare Responsibilities

• Pick up the children from school and transport them to activities using the family vehicle
• Support homework, including elementary and middle school subjects such as reading and math
• Keep afternoons organized by planning ahead with snacks, activities, and smooth transitions between commitments
• Engage the children through active, creative play including sports, crafts, games, and imaginative activities
• Provide loving but consistent guidance and maintain the boundaries and routines the parents set
• Prepare simple, kid-friendly meals and snacks
• Assist with evening routines
• Maintain consistent routines and communicate clearly with the parents throughout the day

Family Assistant Support

• Family and children’s laundry
• Grocery shopping, Costco runs, Target pickups, dry cleaning, returns, and other household errands
• Monitor household supplies and proactively communicate when items need replenishing
• Assist with simple meal preparation while thoughtfully maintaining the family’s kosher kitchen (the family is happy to teach)
• Keep the children’s spaces and shared living areas tidy and organized (professional cleaners handle deep cleaning every two weeks)
• Help maintain the family vehicle by coordinating car washes, fueling, and routine service appointments as needed
• Utilize the family’s household manual, shared Google calendars, school portals, and household systems to stay organized and ensure responsibilities are completed consistently

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

• An experienced professional nanny with strong childcare experience and an interest in growing within a nanny/family assistant role
• Warm, nurturing, and genuinely enjoys working with school-age children
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple responsibilities throughout the day
• Confident supporting elementary and middle school homework, including math
• Able to take clear direction and independently follow through without requiring ongoing reminders
• Consistent and reliable when following family routines, written instructions, and household systems
• Confident enough to hold boundaries while maintaining a positive relationship with the children
• Energetic, playful, and able to keep up with two active kids
• Comfortable with parents who work from home
• Excited to learn and respect a kosher kitchen
• Tech-comfortable with shared Google calendars, group texts, email, and school portals
• A safe, reliable driver with a clean driving record
• Looking for a true long-term position where they can grow with one wonderful family
