The Nanny Joynt is thrilled to partner with a warm, globally-minded family of three seeking a reliable, intuitive, proactive, and experienced Household Manager/Nanny to support their home and toddler son. With both parents in senior executive roles at the same tech company, their days are full and fast-paced. They are seeking a confident, very proactive individual who can keep the home running smoothly daily, provide some childcare support, and bring a sense of calm and trust to their family’s rhythm. Their son attends full-day preschool, and the household manager will pick him up each day and spend time with him until parents return from work.
About the Family:
- One child, 21 months old at start
- He attends daycare full-time; he is happy, trusting, energetic, and fun to spend time with
- Both parents are in leadership roles at a scaling tech company
- Family is originally from Norway, and recently relocated to Arizona
- No pets in the home; no allergies or health concerns for their son
- Montessori-inspired parenting, which values independence, calm redirection, and developmentally aligned education
Position Details:
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday: 1:00pm until 5:00pm
- One weekend day (Saturday OR Sunday): 4 hours (flexible)
- One evening per week for babysitting: 4 hours (flexible)
- Guaranteed Hours: 30 hours per week
Travel: Yes, occasional travel may be requested. Travel will be known well in advance.
Overnights: Occasionally, during parent work travel.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $30–$32/hour DOE
- Guaranteed Hours 30 hours per week
- W2 Position, Paid Vacation: 1 week (30 hours) after 90 days; 2 weeks annually after 1 year, Paid Sick Time, Paid Holidays
- Mileage Reimbursement: 70 cents/mile for errands and driving child (nanny must use their own safe and reliable vehicle)
Responsibilities:
Household Duties (Primary Focus):
- Daily light housekeeping, including tidying the kitchen, loading/unloading the dishwasher, wiping counters, etc.
- Regular light cleaning, such as vacuuming and wiping floors with a mop or Jif floor cleaner if something spills.
- Organizing drawers and cabinets to keep the home well-structured.
- Taking out the trash daily and bringing in the bins on Mondays.
- Making the beds every day and fluffing the sofa pillows.
- Ironing shirts as part of weekly laundry routines.
- Running errands as needed, for example, buying a gift if their child is invited to a birthday party.
- Align family calendars and prepare for upcoming events
- Help with preparing for travel by packing, etc.
- Household laundry: washing, folding, putting away, and linen care
- Running errands: grocery shopping, Target runs, post office
- Preparing healthy family meals and toddler snacks (familiarity with European/whole-food preferences a plus)
- Organizational projects as needed
- Proactive identification of tasks and maintaining smooth household operations
- Creating a household manual and task list
Childcare Duties (Afternoon/Evening/Weekend):
- Pickup from daycare (3:30pm) and afternoon care until parents return
- Engage in developmentally-appropriate play, reading, and outdoor exploration
- Foster independence and curiosity aligned with Montessori principles
- Mealtime routine and cleaning up after.
- Babysitting one evening per week and weekend hours as needed

- Trustworthy, responsible, and able to take full ownership of household tasks
- Very experienced in running a busy home
- Warm, caring, and patient with children
- Self-directed and organized
- Calm, positive, and flexible with excellent time management
- Strong communication skills with the ability to set appropriate boundaries and follow through
- Professional and discreet in demeanor
- Comfortable with pools and swimming with their child
- Holds a valid driver’s license and has a reliable vehicle for errands and pickup
- CPR/First Aid certified
- Familiar with the Montessori methods
