The Nanny Joynt is thrilled to partner with a warm, organized, and busy family in Chandler seeking a long-term, part-time nanny/household assistant to support their two active daughters and help keep their household running smoothly. The family is looking for someone experienced, proactive, and confident who can seamlessly balance childcare and household responsibilities. The right candidate will genuinely love children, be strong with structure and follow-through, and feel confident supporting two working parents in a busy household.
Requirements to apply for this position:
- Experienced with children ages 4–8 and skilled in emotional regulation techniques
- Someone who can help set up and stick to a consistent schedule and structure (bath days, themes, etc.)
- Strong with boundaries and structure, while also fun and emotionally present
- Excellent communicator who works well with at-home parents and can manage household tasks intuitively
- Organized, proactive, and self-motivated
- Enjoys baking and cooking with children
- Comfortable using a family vehicle for transportation
- Interested in a long-term, meaningful relationship with the family
- Familiar with the Chandler area and located nearby
About the Family:
Children:
- 7-year-old daughter: Easygoing, go-with-the-flow, enjoys having homework support and playing after school. Very into baking and loves connection. She excels in math but requires some additional support in reading and writing.
- 4-year-old daughter: Energetic and passionate, with a big personality. Needs a nanny with strong emotional regulation skills and experience supporting children with big feelings. Loves baking, reading, and playing. She does need help with letters and sight words.
Parents:
- Both parents work from home and are present but busy throughout the day.
- The children’s grandfather also lives in the home.
- The family has a spacious home with dedicated play areas and plenty of room for activities. 7000 Sq Ft.
Pets: The family may be adding a dog in a few months – the nanny should be pet-friendly
Position Details:
Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 11:30am to 6:30pm (28 hours/week guaranteed)
Flexible on the schedule will offer 28 hours per week, but can move the scheduled hours to fit with their ideal candidates needs. When applying please let me know your ideal schedule. They cannot offer more hours at this time.
- Date nights, extra hours if needed, would be appreciated
- They will need extra support during school breaks and summer vacation (potential for more hours during these times)
- The nanny will use the family car when transporting children
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: $30–$32/hour DOE
- Guaranteed Hours 28 hours per week
- W2 on payroll
- Paid Sick Days, paid holidays, paid vacation
Travel Required: No travel required
Overnights: Not required – but appreciated if needed
Responsibilities:
Childcare Duties:
- School pick-ups: 3:15pm pickup in Ahwatukee and 4:00pm pickup in Tempe
- In addition to regular school pickup, we will need support for after-school activities – pickup/drop off
- Prepare or warm up dinner, assist with bath time, and evening routine
- Homework support and guidance with structure and follow-through
- Engage the children with meaningful activities, games, and baking projects
- Provide patient, consistent guidance to support emotional regulation and impulse control, especially for the younger child
- Create a calm, structured after-school environment with clear routines
- Support in creating a nutritious, balanced meal plan – especially for the girls (i.e., after school snacks, lunches, meal prep, or dinners)
- You should be someone who can have fun, do activities with the girls, but ensure they are involved in picking up after themselves and participating in the cleanup chores
Household Support:
- Light tidying and upkeep during hours when children are not present
- Family laundry: wash, fold, put away
- Prep dinner and assist with family meal planning weekly – Mom has a gluten allergy – Celiac
- Weekly fridge clean out and monthly pantry tidying/organizing
- Grocery shopping and errands as needed
- Monitoring the children’s wardrobes – moving out old sizes/seasonal clothes
- Keeping the playroom, kitchen, and common areas tidy and organized
- Preparing healthy snacks and helping maintain a clean, welcoming space
- Creating and following household routines independently without the need for micromanagement
