The Nanny Joynt is excited to partner with this kind family in Queen Creek, seeking an experienced, calm, and confident Newborn Care Specialist to provide overnight support for their newborn son and help establish healthy sleep foundations from the very beginning. This role is ideal for a true infant professional who loves guiding families through those early weeks with structure, consistency, and gentle sleep conditioning.

Requirements to apply to this role:

  • A seasoned Newborn Care Specialist with strong overnight experience (2–16 week stage)
  • NCS certification required (e.g., NCSA, DONS, or equivalent)
  • Infant CPR & First Aid certified
  • Minimum 2 professional newborn references
  • Support gentle, responsive sleep shaping (no cry-it-out or extinction-based methods). 
  • Calm, steady, and professional—brings structure without judgment
  • Excellent communicator who will approach with warmth and clarity
  • Reliable and consistent—this role requires strong stamina and dependability with a 5-night schedule
  • Up-to-date on safe sleep guidelines, newborn best practices, and infant soothing techniques
  • Vaccination compliant: TdAP, Flu, MMR

About the Family:

Parents:

Children:

  • Baby Boy — DOB 01/05/2026 (approximately 2–3 weeks old at start)
  • One additional child: 3-year-old (daytime care is separate, but candidate should be comfortable in a home with a toddler)

Position Details:

Schedule: 5 nights per week – Monday through Friday
Hours: 9:00pm–7:00am
Term: 6-12 weeks (contracted overnight support)

This position is designed to give parents full overnight relief while building strong sleep habits and a predictable rhythm as their baby grows. The family would love a specialist who can also educate them on best practices so they can maintain progress after the contract ends.

Compensation:

  • Overnight Rate: $35-$40 hour DOE 
  • Contract position

Primary Focus of the Role:

This family is specifically hiring an NCS who can:

  • Provide expert overnight newborn care so parents can rest
  • Build a consistent nighttime routine from the start
  • Support gentle sleep conditioning using developmentally appropriate methods
  • Teach parents sustainable techniques they can continue long-term

Responsibilities:

Overnight Newborn Care:

  • Provide attentive, nurturing overnight care for the full 10-hour shift
  • Handle all wake-ups and soothe the baby back to sleep using calm, consistent methods
  • Support feeding routines overnight (bottle feeding of expressed milk/formula as directed by parents)
  • Burping, diapering, swaddling, soothing, and settling the baby safely and efficiently
  • Maintain a quiet, dark, sleep-supportive environment throughout the night
  • Use best practices for safe sleep and newborn handling at all times 

Gentle Sleep Conditioning + Routine Building:

  • Establish an age-appropriate bedtime rhythm (wind-down, soothing flow, predictable cues)
  • Incorporate twilight/dream feeds when appropriate to encourage longer stretches
  • Support parents in building a consistent schedule without harsh sleep training methods
  • Provide clear guidance around wake windows, soothing techniques, and overnight pacing

Communication + Parent Education:

  • Provide a brief morning update (feeding times, diaper changes, sleep stretches, any concerns)
  • Track patterns and progress to help the family see improvement over time
  • Offer gentle coaching so parents feel confident continuing routines on their own

Light Baby-Related Household Support:

  • Clean and sanitize bottles used overnight
  • Keep nursery and baby feeding areas tidy and organized
  • Restock baby supplies as needed (diapers, wipes, burp cloths, etc.)
