The Nanny Joynt is so happy to be working with this returning warm, high-functioning family in the Troon area seeking a proactive, experienced, and detail-oriented Household Manager to help keep their home running smoothly. This is a long-term opportunity for a motivated candidate who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys managing logistics and organization, and is comfortable with occasional childcare for their 4-year-old daughter, typically on Fridays and Saturdays.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating systems, staying ahead of household needs, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

About the Family:
Children:

  • 4-year-old daughter who attends preschool Monday–Thursday until 4:00pm
  • Parents primarily need childcare coverage on Friday and Saturday afternoons and occasional Sundays
  • The focus of this role is household management, but comfort with stepping in for childcare when needed is required
  • Pets: They have two cats in the house, so pet care and pet sitting will be required when the family travels.

Parents:

  • Mom and Dad are both involved and communicative
  • The family values warmth, transparency, and accountability
  • Their current nanny has shifted toward a childcare-focused preference, prompting this role transition to a dedicated household support person
  • The family has a bi-weekly housecleaning service in place

Position Details:
Schedule:

  • Monday – Thursday 11:30am-5:30pm and Friday 12pm-8pm 35 hours guaranteed each week, full-time schedule 
  • Most work will be Monday–Thursday, with afternoon childcare hours on Friday and date night.
  • Flexible start and end times during the week, depending on the needs and household projects
  • Saturdays and Sundays are optional and not required

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Rate: $35-$38/hour DOE
  • Guaranteed Hours: 35/week, W2 position, Paid Sick Days, Vacation, Holidays
  • Mileage reimbursement for errands

Travel Required: No
Overnights: Not required

Responsibilities:

Household Management – 6500 Sq Ft (85%):

  • Scheduling household maintenance, repairs, and vendor visits
  • Creating and maintaining systems for organization and efficiency
  • Managing household inventory and ordering/restocking essentials
  • Maintaining vehicles, oil changes, car washes etc. 
  • Rotating out clothing, managing seasonal storage
  • Packing and unpacking for trips, etc. 
  • Handling packages, checking mail
  • Coordinating donations and pickups for unwanted items
  • Running errands: grocery shopping, dry cleaning, returns, post office, etc.
  • Overseeing laundry and ironing, ensuring clothing is well-cared for
  • Meal prep daily and packing lunch box for the next day
  • Managing calendar items (appointments, school forms, reminders, etc.)
  • Coordinating with housekeepers, reviewing their work, and keeping the home tidy between visits – every other week
  • Maintaining the overall flow and function of the home – changing light bulbs, furnace filters, etc. 
  • Tidying bathrooms and kitchen areas between cleanings
  • Proactive problem-solving for home logistics and needs
  • Petcare as needed, changing litter boxes, taking to grooming appts, there are two cats in the house, pet sitting will be required when the family travels
  • Being intuitive and proactive in completing tasks that need to be done

Childcare Support (15%):

  • Care for 4-year-old daughter on Friday/Saturday afternoons
  • Engaging the child with age-appropriate activities when needed
  • Meal/snack prep and support with transitions (e.g., drop-offs/pick-ups or weekend routines)
  • Keeping child areas organized and tidy
  • Must enjoy interacting with young children, though this is not the primary role focus

  • Experienced household manager with a proven track record of maintaining homes at a high level
  • Exceptionally organized, efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Proactive communicator who anticipates needs and follows through without reminders
  • Comfortable working in a home with a child, but not seeking a childcare-heavy role
  • Positive, professional, and warm presence
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of family privacy
  • Able to take initiative and problem-solve independently
  • Clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Open to occasional weekend hours, but prefers weekday consistency
